As traditional media companies evolve to meet changing consumer and advertiser needs, more eyes are turning to Lawrence, Kan., to see what has been called one of the most innovative local news organizations in the world.

The Lawrence Journal-World, its sister television station and online operation have been working in a highly converged way since 2001, a process which was highlighted five years ago when the company’s news gathering operations moved into a state-of-the-art converged newsroom.

Since that time, the company has won regional and national awards for its newspaper and television newscasts, national and international online awards for best local news site, best sports site and best entertainment site and has been featured by the New York Times and National Public Radio as the "Newspaper of the future."

This symposium will offer an in-depth look at the company’s converged strategies for news and advertising plus access to senior management, who will talk candidly about all aspects of the organization.
