Free State finished the season with a 9-4 record and made a legitimate case to be included in the debate about the best FSHS football team of all-time.

We're less than four hours away from kickoff of this year's City Showdown football game between Lawrence High and Free State. The Lions and Firebirds will renew their rivalry at 7:30 tonight at Haskell Stadium, but for those of you having difficulty killing time before the big game, Journal-World high school sports editor Matt Tait and 6News sports anchor D.J. Whetter are here to help as they analyze the match-up one final time and talk about the hype surrounding the game.
